Bodies In Harmony
Bodies In Harmony is a therapeutic project that focuses on health and well-being, addressing the problems of poor diet, sedentary lifestyles, and obesity in adults. It is a fun-filled project. Osun Arts Foundation has a track record established over 20 years of working with various groups – from young people through to the older generation; delivering numerous projects both arts-related and non-arts related.
The Bodies in Harmony involves sessional based activities in community centres for mixed groups and includes movement, dance for fitness, nutritional information, practical dietary advice and therapeutic activity. As part of the workshop, we include a Healthy Cooking Segment, which includes practical tuition and the opportunity for participants to taste fresh healthy nutritious food. All of our bodies in Harmony sessions are delivered by professional workshop leaders that are skilled in movement, diet, nutrition and healthy cooking.
We commenced the delivery of our Bodies In Harmony Project in various venues across Liverpool in 2016. The Project is currently supported by the NHS via the Liverpool Clinical Commissioning Group and Award For All. It is safe to say that, so far, the project is receiving warm, enthusiastic responses. To date, we have worked with over 300 people of various ages, backgrounds, and abilities in community centres from Croxteth/Norris Green to Everton/Anfield and Kensington/Toxteth.
Please check back for regular updates from the Project. If you would like to get involved with the project on any level, please contact us here at Osun Arts Foundation.
